When it comes to creating wedding cakes that are as visually stunning as they are delicious, I’m your go-to baker and designer.

 

I’m Lydia Roper, the founder and creative heart behind Wildflower Cake Studio. Since 2009, I’ve been blending my background in art, fashion, and styling to craft cakes that not only taste incredible but also tell a unique story.

Working from my purpose-built home baking studio in Fareham, Hampshire, I love inviting couples for personal consultations and tastings—it’s one of my favourite parts of the process. As a self-confessed lover of love, I’m passionate about milestone celebrations and enjoy diving into the details of your big day, from the venue and suppliers to the personal touches that make your event truly special.

Types of cakes I work on

Whether it’s edible flowers, sugar blooms, fresh petals, or delicate wafer creations, my cakes are often adorned with botanicals that transform them into intricate works of art. I steer clear of stiff, sugary fondant and instead work with rich, silky ganache and smooth buttercream. Some of my most popular flavour combinations include lemon & elderflower, lemon & raspberry & white chocolate, and Biscoff & blueberry—but there’s something for every palate.
